AI not fair!
Hi.
i usually use henchies for skillcapping. their usually the best for skillcap parties since they behave themselves and dont leave when they cap their skill.
I have been trying to cap ether prodigy in the ring of fire mission for ages with a henchie party and always got stuck next to my boss near the fire imps. as you might know fire imp have meteor shower.. so while enemy AI will move out of AOE spells range why dont henchies too? in this particular case my whole party was obliterated and my futile attempts to run away (so henchies follow) proved futile.
Henchies are noobs!

or just keep trying till he spawns with the breeze keepers just before the 2 mursaat towers? .. thats how i capped it with henchies

the AI in this game is horridly annoying
when i first got factions (never played prophecies until a few weeks ago)
you could draw enemies pretty good. but now you cant pull shit. its like they made it totally worthless to farm solo. the mantis i have noticed they wont pull in 3s but in 5s and 6s and its totally lame. you cant solo that i dont care who you are. i got lucky and narrowed it down to 3v1 with help from the warden but i was already in the 45dp range and successfuly sucked and already spent about 400g at the shrine.
i got the w/n build for this solo off this forum i think somewhere now i cant find it. the one for chkkr ironclaw. if anyone finds it post here.

Dahnel, that sounds good but in practice...
I tried going the long way and eventually the hench got obliterated (useless f*cking AI) by Meteor Shower. So i decided to cap both Ether Prodigy and Shield Of Deflection by just restarting and going to the first spawn over and over (i had Migraine already). Took me about 10-20 attempts to FINALLY get my boss to spawn both times. I think i broke some sort of record for getting there in the quickest time with my Ranger.
Although thinking about it... it was probably easier to clear everything and simply kill 1 at a time and Rebirth them constantly...

After playing through the game a capped all elites with henchies and didnt have any problems with them. Even got the very annoying monk elite in abbadon (the boss that was only there after I cleared the entire mission 6 times)...
Remember that henchies follows your attack sign, so you should change it if it brings them into trouble. Also you should adapt your build on such annoying thingies. For monks its easier, they just heal. You might consider taking interupts etc.
True that the henchies could use some ai upgrades, but in the past many improvements where made. In general ai is the most difficult concept, and henchies are starting to get more intelligent. Mostly on ressing and movement they can be improved.
But i didnt encountered a single mission/area that cant be done with henchies. (of course in UW/Fow it isnt the best way to pull it off..)

they also dont want the henchie AI to be any smarter even if they could. otherwise everyone will PVE alone without other players. so i dont think they'll be fixing the faults anytime soon. with henchies u got the non responsivness to AoE, both healers ressing same player, taking basic mediocre skills etc.. and with real players u get rushing, aggroing multiple mobs, attacking multiple targets, leaving etc.. they sort of level eachother out

For RoF, use something in the lines of warding, ward vs melee and vs elements works fine, coupled with interrupts (if you are /me) I had no problems clearing Pedrition Rock with henchies. Used Obsidian Flame for finishing 'em. You can pack extra dmg if you want.

I want the henches-AI to be as good as the mob-AI. The mobs act smart, godly even, compared to henchman.

You kidding, right?
This is because you can "tweak" they intelligence by selecting only a few skills for them and grouping appropriate classes, while you're the one that chooses henchmen which should be pretty modular skill-wise (and yeah some of their skills suck outright). Nothing insurmountable, though.

Yeah, a mob can cast a firestorm IN battle, and the henchy's do it AFTER the battle Also some MOBs tend to interupt healinghands (1/4 cast IIRC)
